La Spezia hosts Navy Day 2023

On Friday 9 June, at 10:30 in La Spezia, Navy Day will be celebrated, in the presence of the high institutional offices of the Defense and the Chief of Staff of the Navy.

Some ships of the Navy will be visible in the waters in front of the Morin promenade; the school ship Vespucci, the helicopter carrier Garibaldi, the new generation patrol vessel Thaon of Revel, the frigate Alpine, the submarine Scirè of the Ship Italy. Ship Volcano will receive the Combat Flag during the ceremony, while the Military Hospital Center of Taranto will receive the Gold Medal for Navy Valor

For the occasion, the Naval Technical Museum, at the Naval Base of the Navy, will be open to the public from 5 to 11 June from 08:30 to 19:30 (last admission at 19:00), free of charge.

On the evening of 8 June, at 21:30 in Piazza Europa, the central band of the Navy will perform in a concert open free of charge to the population.

In addition, a Marina village will be set up along the Italy Pier with the Mobile Information Centre, helicopter, hurricane dinghy and submarine simulators, the stands of the command of divers and raidersof the Marine Brigade Saint Mark with the presence of an amphibious attack boat, the naval aviation command, the mine countermeasure forces command, the inflatable of the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy and a sailing boat simulator of the Italian Naval League.
