"Il Rancio del Soldato - Food at the front and at home"

In the context of the commemorations of the centenary of the First World War, at the Dioscuri Complex at the Quirinale (Via Piacenza, 1), the Army Commissariat Corps, in collaboration with the Italian Academy of Cuisine, set up the exhibition "Il Rancio del Soldato Power supply at the front and at home "which will be open to the public from 13 to 15 in May and from 18 to 20 in May, from 09.00 to 18.00.

They are exhibited memorabilia and photographs, postcards and menus, all related to the rally during the Great War. Typical scenographies and didactic panels are depicted on the provisioning service of the period.

In addition, at the inauguration of the exhibition, 13 May at 10.00, a seminar on the same theme was held.

Present at the meeting, the head of the Army Commissariat Corps, ten. January Giuseppe Fabbri and the Rome delegate of the Italian Academy of Cuisine, dott. Gabriele Gasparro as well as various military, civil and religious authorities.

The speakers of the conference were Colonel Stefano Rega, with the presentation entitled "The organization of the logistics of the Italian Army in the Great War", the dott. Michele D'andrea (historian) with "The war on the table - sketches of 15-18", Dr. Mariarosa Santiloni (historical) with "The role of women in the course of the conflict" and prof. Alberto Capatti (rector of the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo) with "The domestic kitchen and the gardens of war and peace".
