Relations between Italy and Burkina Faso are strengthened. Yesterday morning, in fact, Minister Elisabetta Trenta signed a bilateral agreement with the Minister of National Defense and Veterans of Burkina Faso, Moumina Chériff Sy.
An agreement that establishes the common firm will to strengthen bilateral relations, with the intention of expanding them to specific areas of cooperation, such as the fight against terrorism and capacity building activities.
The document was signed this morning during the bilateral meeting that took place at the "Pius IX" Army Circle, during which the dicastery's owner underlined the significant importance that Italy gives to cooperation with Africa , especially with the Sahel countries, with the aim of supporting them in their path of stabilization and development.
The improvement of the security conditions of this area is an essential aspect of our commitment and, the Italian Armed Forces, side by side with our international cooperation, are particularly committed to this end.
In this perspective, the Italian presence is part of bilateral missions and under the aegis of the UN and the European Union in the Horn of Africa and in the Sahel.
