The road that leads to wearing the uniform of the carabinieri passes through public competitions.
For one of them, the one for admission to the 11th three-year course pupil marshals, the deadlines for submitting applications are still open until March 15th. The data relating to applications received so far show a strong increase (+ 45%) compared to the same period last year, with 13.506 applications submitted online on the portal www.carabinieri.it.
All Italian citizens between 17 and 25 years of age in possession of a secondary education diploma of II degree (or who are able to obtain it at the end of the school year 2020-2021) can participate in the competition, in full enjoyment of the rights civil and political, not convicted or accused of non-culpable crimes.
The competition includes a preliminary test, physical efficiency tests, a written test of knowledge of the Italian language, psycho-physical and aptitude tests and an oral test.
The winners of the competition are required to attend a 3-year university-based training course, at the end of which, in addition to the rank of marshal, they will obtain a degree in "Legal Sciences of Security".
Training certainly represents the most important form of investment for the future of the weapon: in the recent alternation ceremony in the position of commander of the schools of the weapon at the Legion of Carabinieri students of Rome, the commander general Teo Luzi highlighted the utmost importance of the Training Organization, which has the delicate function of providing the necessary professionalism to the recruited personnel, but above all of transmitting the values of the weapon to the young carabinieri.
At the end of the three-year training period at the Marshals and Brigadier School, based in Florence, those who will take on the role of marshals of the role of inspectors of the Carabinieri, in addition to carrying out their military duties, will carry out public security and judicial police functions. They will be able to replace the direct superiors in case of absence or impediment and, after having gained some years of experience, they will be able to be in charge of Carabinieri stations, operating or training units, as well as taking over the management of offices or coordination functions of several operating units, with full responsibility for the activity performed.
The other two competitions held in the last period (terms expired), the one for admission to the 203rd course of the Academy for the basic training of officers and the one for the 140th Carabinieri students course, recorded encouraging data: 7.485 applications received in the first case and 42.694 in the second, with an increase respectively of 22,5% and 14,8% compared to the previous year, testifying to a renewed interest of young people in human perspectives and professionals that a career in the Army can offer.
To reach the widest audience of potential interested parties and in particular the young groups who are the target audience, the information campaign relating to the competition is conducted through a wide range of dissemination tools. In addition to the television and radio commercials and the publication on the internet, there is in particular the publication of posts on all the main social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube) through the Arma channels with posts and videos specially created for the advertising of the competitions. .
