On Saturday 13 May 2023, the Navy will participate in the "Night of the Museums" event, organized by Roma Capitale. For the occasion, from 20.00 to 24.00, Palazzo Marina will participate with an extraordinary opening at night.
Visitors will be accompanied to discover the marvels housed in the headquarters of the Naval Staff, also known as the "Palazzo delle Ancore", through an evocative itinerary that will wind between the courtyard of honour, the monumental Grand Staircase leading to the Salone dei Marmi, the long corridors speckled with marble and the elegant Library, with its wooden paneling and full of ingenious systems for removing the over 40 precious volumes from the shelves, many of which are rare manuscripts. For the occasion, the Mobile Information Center of the Navy will be present, a multimedia bus equipped with the latest technology.
In the courtyard in front of the Palazzo, from 20.30 to 21.30, the Navy Band will perform a repertoire of hymns and marches in concert.
The visits, as well as the concert, are free and accessible without reservation. The entrance will be from Piazza della Marina (via Flaminia).
