One of the most important events in Italy and at European level in the field of cybersecurity and innovative technologies, the Cybertech Europe 2024, brings together experts, companies and policy makers in a single space, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the creation of networks.
The conference program, extensive and very interesting, saw PA decision makers and large private companies alternate on stage, who tried to give a reading of the development of the world related to cybersecurity in Italy and in the world.
The most interesting part, however, in our opinion, is the visit to the stands, big or small makes little difference. When visiting the stands there are many aspects to keep in mind, the first has to do with the companies and their desire to get involved, which characterizes the stand, the second has to do with the people and their ability to relate to everyone. The third has to do with the tendency of people to accumulate sometimes useless things: collect gadgets!
It is very interesting how these three elements combine to give a different and unique result every time. Stopping to talk to those at the stand allowed us to meet people and companies in the world of cyber security that would otherwise be difficult to reach. The simultaneous presence of so many operators also allows us to save precious time.
We started the visit from Sentinel One. The staff present explained to us what they do and what their flagship products are. Particularly interesting Purple AI, the new security solution based on Artificial Intelligence, which simplifies the work of analysts and technicians.
Of course we couldn't leave without trying the Photobooth transformative that in a few minutes, using as input a photograph of us taken at the moment, transforms us into cyberspace superheroes. Nice gadget delivered via email to keep among the memories.
We continue the visit. We arrive at the box of OneIdentity and we stop to talk to them. The goal of One Identity can be summarized with protecting identities, to do so they use a system that brings together the four elements of Identity Security: IGM (Identity Governance and Administration), AM (Access Management), PAM (Privileged Access Management) and ADM (Active Directory Management). We leave the counter with a greeting and continue the visit of Cyber Tech.
A stand attracts us thanks to some brightly colored hats: we are in front of Cynet. Company founded in Tel Aviv in 2015 and present as HQ in Boston, deals with providing cybersecurity services and products all over the world. Cynet All-in-One It is a unified product for managing the security of endpoints, users, networks, applications, emails and any third-party systems. It also allows you to manage logs and has a SOC available to its customers.
The sweetest visit was the one to the stand of Qualys, we actually started with an excellent strawberry, chocolate and cream ice cream. Naturally we then moved on to see their IT management systems and its security. Their flagship product, Enterprise TruRisk Management (ETM) enables the management of the entire attack surface, which helps corporate security teams to correctly manage risks and prioritize the interventions to be implemented to prevent or remedy the damage in the worst case.
Being passionate about training and convinced supporters of the principles of gamification, we stopped at the counter of Cyber Guru, where they explained in detail how the platform works and talked about the company, which has more than a million users in 62 countries.
Interesting visit to the stand of DGS, too bad we couldn't talk to anyone but they were all very busy. In their stand they showed a fully automated miniature warehouse that illustrated the features present or possible in real ones. Surely of interest to all those who have a similar business to manage.
Despite the chaos we also managed to get close to the CISCO. We would have liked to talk more with the technicians but when there are too many of you it is always difficult. However, we managed to understand something about their system CISCO Umbrella and the news that concerns it. The little that we saw was still enough to stimulate curiosity.

NinjaOne is a company founded in 2018 in Dallas, Texas, specializing in IT device management. The company offers monitoring, management, and automation tools, aimed at IT teams and managed service providers. NinjaOne's mission is to simplify IT operations, making it easier for companies to manage their devices and ensure effective security. CUBBITS, one of the innovative Italian startups, illustrated its distributed cloud storage solution. The solution allows the user to choose where and how to store their data. The data is first encrypted, fragmented, redundant and then distributed. The company, from Bologna, is growing, also thanks to its competitive prices so... good luck!
We spoke with many other companies present, all interesting. In some cases the lack of a paper brochure to take away pro memoria played bad tricks on us, so even if we wanted to we can't mention them all.
It was also an opportunity to meet many friends of Sicynt (Italian Society for the diffusion of CYber culture and New Technologies), busy at the stands or simply visiting. SICYNT is a non-political, non-profit association for social promotion that pursues civic, solidarity and social utility purposes, whose purpose is to promote cyber culture, new technologies and intelligence for the benefit of Italian society.
Finally we stopped at the stand of Leonardo. We were welcomed in a large box with a sphere at the center of a projection system that allowed us to have a detailed view of data and information. Cybersecurity, intelligence, quantum computing and more generally all disruptive tech are continuously under observation by the national Big Industry to try to support Italy in creating a competitive advantage.
Now that Cybertech 2024 is over, we're already starting to think about the next one.
