Even if the Locked Shield is nothing more than an exercise, therefore with all the limits of the case, it is an important event in the world Cyber panorama and - at least it seems - France has reached its goal: win!
The Czech Republic and Sweden ranked second and third respectively.
Last year it came very close, second after the NATO team and in front of the winners of the 2017, the Czech Republic team.
For France it certainly cannot be said that this is a case, those who follow the development of the subject closely will have no difficulty in recognizing it.
The French and military cyber national organizations have in fact benefited from careful treatment by the institutions and the necessary resources. In recent years, in fact, investments have been made throughout France, stimulating the creation of start-ups and the growth of cyber culture, both in state organizations and between companies and citizens. The district of Rennes, with its "Pôle d'excellence Cyber", has become the engine of development of the sector.
In addition, the recent French national exercise, "Defnet 2019", held between 18 and 29 March, during which the role of the new information exchange system "Cybercodex" tested by all the actors was highlighted among the changes. of the cyberdefence chain.
The Locked Shield 2019 tutorial included Blue Teams in defense of the around 4000 virtual IT systems representing national systems, e Red Teams in attack, responsible for around 2500 attacks. THE Blue Teams in the first place they were called to protect vital services and infrastructures critical for the survival of the nation they represented but also to take strategic decisions, together with civil decision makers or to carry out intelligence and forensic analysis.
In second place is the Czech Republic, which is confirmed among the most active and advanced states in the field.
