American elections: Trump's website hacked

We are in time of American elections, in a few days it will be known who will lead the first world power and, consequently, the world.
The race between Donald Trump, the current president in office, and his opponent Joe Biden is getting tighter and no blow is forbidden.
The fear of foreign interference in the elections is very high, not only in America, so we are not surprised when we read that Donald Trump's official campaign site has been hacked.

The site was the subject of a "defacement". According to what was reported on the site, the hackers would have had access to several devices that would have allowed them to have access to compromising documents on the Trump family.
The site accuses President Trump of having helped to spread fake news during his mandate and of being implicated in the Covid 19 epidemic. Not only that, but he is accused of having brigated with foreign powers to manipulate the 2020 elections.
Finally, a donation was requested, to be paid in cryptocurrency, in order to access the information.

Il defacement did not last long, the situation returned to normal soon, the questions remain.

Who is responsible?

Is it a foreign power somehow interested in influencing the American elections?

Are they skirmishes with the opposing party?

Are they some enterprising kid, as it seems to have happened a few months earlier with the Twitter accounts of Biden and Obama?

If the goal was to influence the elections, why haven't the compromising documents been released yet?

The whole question is more of a publicity stunt than anything else: "Good or bad, the important thing is that we talk about it", some would say.

During his election campaign Donald Trump joked about the impossibility of being hacked, according to him to be able to hack it it would take too high an IQ and knowledge of 15% of the password (what it meant I don't understand, mea culpa, my IQ doesn't it is certainly that high). However, this is denied by the facts!

To date, there seems to have been no direct consequences of the incident but it is not certain that other elements will change the situation in the coming days. After all, we don't know if anyone made a donation to access the compromising files ...
