Thanks to the cooperation between Sicynt e Online Defense we participated in the Cybertech Europe 2024 a Roma.

Cybertech Europe 2024 confirms itself as one of the most important events for cybersecurity in Europe, attracting experts and leading companies in the sector. The event is a platform for discussion, sharing and innovation, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities of the world of cybersecurity. In this context, ManageEngine, division of Zoho Corporation, has consolidated its presence, strengthening its strategy for the European market, particularly the Italian one, actively participating as a sponsor and speaker.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Sujoy Banerjee, associate director for the Middle East, Italy and Africa of ManageEngine, a leading brand in the IT management and security industry. During the interview, Banerjee delved into ManageEngine's role in the Italian market, their innovative products, and the importance of training in the field of cybersecurity.

ManageEngine was founded as a division of Zoho Corporation in 2002, with the goal of providing enterprise IT management tools. It is one of the largest privately held tech companies in the world with thousands of employees and a strong global presence. With over 280.000 customers globally, ManageEngine has solidified its position as a leader in IT management and security.

"We are a completely private company with Indian roots, but with a global vision. We have been in Italy for almost twenty years. Many big names and public administrations use our products."

The Italian market has been a major focus for ManageEngine since the early 2000s. Banerjee highlighted how Italy is one of the most dynamic markets in Europe, thanks to the presence of enterprises and public administrations that rely on ManageEngine products.

The decision to sponsor events in the country reflects the strategic importance of Italy and the desire to further strengthen their presence in the cybersecurity sector.

In the cyber security sector, ManageEngine has the entire range of necessary products, from SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) to data security, through endpoint security and network security. Of course, at the base of everything there is always a correct management of identities and accesses.

Recent accolades include the company being ranked as Challenger in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Privileged Access Management (PAM) for the second consecutive year. ManageEngine was evaluated alongside eight other PAM vendors for its completeness of vision and ability to execute. The company was also recognized as a Market Leader in the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass 2024: Identity Governance and Administration Report. ManageEngine’s IAM solutions, AD360 and Identity360, were recognized for their effectiveness in managing the identity lifecycle, identifying and mitigating risks, strong access governance through access certification, and robust support for multiple authenticators, including FIDO (Fast IDentity Online), an open standard developed to improve online authentication by reducing reliance on traditional passwords.

Among other notable recognitions for ManageEngine’s work, this year Gartner® named Log360, ManageEngine’s SIEM, to its Magic Quadrant for Best SIEM Product. Log360 is a SIEM tool that combines several features for centralized log management, threat detection and compliance management. This type of solution allows you to monitor in real time all anomalous activities and behaviors within the corporate network, helping to prevent cyber attacks and data breaches. If you consider, for example, a large company in the healthcare sector or public administration, where the management and protection of sensitive data is crucial, it is clear that in this context monitoring activities related to unauthorized access, aimed at countering potential attacks ransomware, is essential. Log360 therefore helps mitigate threats before they become security incidents, while improving compliance with regulations such as GDPR.

Banerjee also highlighted how artificial intelligence (AI) is integrated into many of their products, making systems smarter and more efficient.

One of the most relevant aspects that emerged from the interview is the importance attributed to staff training. According to Banerjee, a well-trained employee who is aware of cyber threats is the first step towards strong corporate security. ManageEngine offers a wide range of customized training programs aimed at improving the awareness and skills of corporate staff. It is widely recognized that investing in staff training leads to a significant reduction in cyber security incidents. Regular training programs can reduce the risk of breaches and attacks, as a large portion of cyber threats arise from human error. Creating a culture of security within organizations not only increases awareness but also strengthens overall defenses, making employees the first line of defense against threats.

"Training is the most important thing in a security system. A properly trained and updated employee is the first line of defense against threats."

ManageEngine is committed to not only offering high-level technical solutions, but also to fostering a culture of cybersecurity through continuous training. Their presence in the Italian market is set to grow as they continue to invest in emerging technologies such as AI to address the challenges of the future.

ManageEngine is therefore positioned as a strategic partner for companies and organizations that want to guarantee the security and efficiency of their IT systems, in Italy and beyond.
