Cybertech Europe 2024, one of the most anticipated and important events for cybersecurity in Europe, an event that attracts experts and leading companies in the sector. The event enhances the discussion and sharing of innovations, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities of the world of cyber security.

In this context we met CrowdStrike in the person of Luca Nilo Livrieri, director, Sales Engineering, Southern Europe, CrowdStrike.

Livrieri told us about the birth of the American company, with headquarters in Austin, Texas, founded in 2011 with the aim of revolutionizing cybersecurity through a cloud-native.

The company in particular has developed a solution called CrowdStrike Falcon® cybersecurity platform, designed to provide advanced protection against real-time threats through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithm .

CrowdStrike has grown rapidly, becoming a recognized leader in the cybersecurity, with solutions that cover endpoint protection, cloud security, threat intelligence, incident response and other areas within cybersecurity. The company is known for its ability to prevent cyber breaches through a combination of technology and managed services.

CrowdStrike's interest in the Italian market cybersecurity it is in line with the trends found at a global level.

"We are seeing an increase in attacks that leverage legitimate credentials and identities to avoid detection and bypass traditional security controls, as well as an increase in hands-on-keyboard intrusions, cross-domain attacks, and cloud control plane attacks. This is driving a growing demand for cloud security, identity protection, and threat intelligence solutions from enterprises."

In general, large organizations and companies demonstrate a growing interest in cybersecurity, but often find themselves having to manage the complexity of security solutions and information. Their main challenge is to consolidate data and obtain a global view of the infrastructure to be protected. On the other hand, small and medium-sized businesses generally show a lower level of attention, focusing mainly on basic security solutions, both in terms of scope and quality of the measures implemented.

"CrowdStrike aims to expand its presence in the Italian market, focusing on the integration of its customized solutions for enterprise and mid-market companies."

The strategy includes strengthening the network of local partners and system integrators to improve the distribution of security technologies.

Furthermore, CrowdStrike aims to increase the awareness of Italian companies regarding cyber threats, supporting them in adopting effective measures to protect their infrastructures, with particular attention to key vertical sectors of the market.

CrowdStrike's flagship product is the platform CrowdStrike Falcon, which is based on the agent Falcon and is designed to respond quickly and effectively to modern threats.

Falcon is a scalable, single-agent, cloud-native platform designed to block cyber attacks and leverage AI to provide visibility into actions and processes inside and outside the network by correlating real-time intelligence. Identity Protection, cloud security, threat hunting e IT hygiene, threat intelligence e vulnerabilities management.

We also talked about the future with Luca Nilo Livrieri.

CrowdStrike has in fact recently announced several key innovations for its platform CrowdStrike Falcon, aimed at simplifying security and IT operations.

Among the main new features is a new interface, Project Kestrel, which provides a unified view of an organization's assets and vulnerabilities, improving the speed of response to threats.

An AI engine was also presented, CrowdStrikeSignal, which automates threat detection and reduces false positives.

Other updates include the integration of new AI security posture management and cloud data protection capabilities. These developments continue the company’s focus on AI and simplifying security operations to address increasingly sophisticated threats.

Finally, we asked for an opinion on the importance of staff training to increase the level of cybersecurity.

For CroudStrike, staff training is essential to improve the level of cybersecurity within any organization. The most advanced technology is effective only if combined with aware and prepared staff.

Cyber attacks, such as phishing and social engineering more generally, often exploit human error, so it is essential that all employees are trained to recognize the signs of possible threats and to follow rigorous security practices.

Training must be continuous and interactive, simulating real scenarios involving all levels of the organization.

"A strong security culture, supported by ongoing training, is key to mitigating risks and strengthening an organization's security posture."

Thanks to Luca Nilo Livrieri and CrowdStrike for the interview and a heartfelt thanks to Sicynt e Online Defense that have allowed us to participate in Cybertech Europe 2024 a Roma.

An experience to repeat!
