Visit of the SME chief in France

The visit to France of the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, general of the army corps Salvatore Farina, during which he met the Chief of Staff of the French Army, General Jean-Pierre Bosser, ended.

The visit to France was a useful moment of discussion on many issues that see the Army and the Armée de Terre involved together and to better face the challenges of the future.

The leaders of the two Armed Forces have shared experiences and projects in the organizational and operational field of the two armies, in particular by analyzing their respective international and national operational commitments. This last aspect represented an important moment of comparison between the operation Sentinelle and the homologous Safe Roads.

Among the other topics discussed, that of cooperation in the field of basic and advanced training as well as training activities with particular attention to training in mountain and amphibious environments.

The visit continued at the Operational Center of the Ile de France region, where the SME chief was able to view the main equipment materials used by the French units. At the end of the visit General Farina was received at the Italian Embassy in France by the ambassador Teresa Castaldo.
