Four passengers in transit at Fiumicino's "Leonardo Da Vinci" airport, three of them Italian and one foreign, were reported on the loose after being caught stealing perfumes and cosmetics from the display racks of two different duty-free departures area.
In one case, one of the thieves was surprised by a mixed patrol consisting of carabinieri of the Rome airports and military personnel of the 185 parachute regiment artillery regiment of the Lazio Abruzzo brigade group "Sassari", engaged at the intercontinental airport in the area of the "Safe Roads" operation.
The stolen goods, for a total value of around 1.000 euros, have been entirely recovered and returned to the managers of the shops.
