From the 28 January to the 1 February, at the training area of Roverè della Luna (TN) took place the 1 ° training module of the "basic course for Volunteers in One Year Fixed (VFP1) ", which saw the training and operation of young 356, between women and men, 1 ° VFP85 Regiment Volunteer Training "Verona".
The newly enlisted soldiers, arrived at 85 ° RAV last 5 December 2018, are carrying out the basic training course, the total duration of 11 weeks, necessary to build the foundations of the Soldier. During these five days of intense training, with temperatures almost never above zero, the soldiers, organized in teams and followed by the instructor, carried out patrols in a wooded and snowy environment, simulations of Basic Life Support, individual combat training and fire activities.
In the latter, the volunteers used small arms supplied to the Army, such as the Beretta AR 70 / 90, and the machine gun FN MINIMUM read, and carried out the launch of the grenade model SRCM 35. The course-goers working together in this particularly challenging context, where the weather and general conditions are not optimal, have understood the importance of training, how important this is to easily overcome the problems, and experienced the unique and genuine bond which characterizes those who find themselves working in these contexts.
On 8 February, to seal the week of intense and fruitful training, the soldiers will pronounce the fateful and awaited "I swear". The ceremony will take place at the “Duca” Barracks in Verona, seat of the 85th RAV. At the end of the course, scheduled for February 28th, the VFP1 will be sent to the operational departments. The aspiring alpine and paratroopers, on the other hand, will carry out a further period of training in the specialty respectively at the Alpine Military School of Aosta and the Parachuting Training Center of Pisa. The 85th Regiment Volunteer Training "Verona" is one of the three regiments of the Italian Army, the only one in the North of Italy, which carries out the task of training over 2.000 VFP1 every year.
