The training and amalgamation activities between the Italian and Qatari branches began at the Al Qailil military base in Qatar.
In particular, some units based on 1 ° and 6 ° bersaglieri regiment and 4 ° tank regiment, started the first cooperation and interoperability activities with the Qatar component, using platforms "Dardo", "Ariete" and "Puma". These initial phases have seen the two Armies focus on developing the ability to simultaneously employ multiple units with different assets, refining command and control procedures as well as testing the various weapon systems in the arduous climate of the Qatari desert, characterized by remarkable thermal excursions between day and night.
The soldiers of the Italian Army, after the first days of acclimatization, were immediately employed in an intense training cycle, confirming that the physical standards in possession of the men and women of the Armed Force allow the rapid achievement of full operational capacity even in different environmental situations.
The exercise, for the next 20 days, will see 800 Italian soldiers and 1400 Qatari soldiers operate on the ground with the deployment of 116 vehicles, including wheeled and tracked vehicles, and various weapon systems.
