Winter Olympics, bronze medal debut for Karin Oberhofer and Dominik Windish

The major corporal chosen Karin Oberhofer and the 1 ° caporal major Dominik Windish, both athletes of the Army Sports Center, won the bronze medal in the mixed biathlon relay at the 22nd edition of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

The Chief of Staff of the Army, General Claudio Graziano, congratulated the athletes “for the constant commitment and sacrifices they had to make to reach this beautiful goal”. Both soldiers in their first Olympic experience belong to the winter sports section of the Aosta Alpine Training Center.

The team, composed of the two soldiers and Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer, is the youngest team among the major participants.

The winter sports section of the Army Sports Center in more than 70 years of history has achieved numerous national and international successes: 17 medals at the Olympic Games, 26 world titles, 216 podiums in World Cup competitions, 10 World Cups absolute, 97 podiums in the European Cup, 13 European titles, over 140 Italian titles.
