Tomorrow the funeral home will be set up at the Coni Hall of Honor to honor the memory of the Colonel of the Army Cavalry Piero D'Inzeo, one of the greatest exponents of Italian equitation that died out yesterday in Rome .

To welcome the arrival of the body, planned around the 10: 30, in addition to the family, there will be the Army Chief of Staff, General Claudio Graziano.

Great emotion in the Cavalry for the loss of an officer who was a point of reference for generations of young knights who were inspired by a man who combined the highest values ​​of the Army and sportsmen.

The funeral home will be open on Saturday 15 February from 10.30 to 18.30 and Sunday 16 February from 10.30 to 14.00. The funeral will take place in Rome on Monday 17 February at 11.00 at the Military Hippodrome in Via Tor di Quinto n. 118.

Colonel Piero D'Inzeo, born in Rome in 1923, was a splendid figure of officer and knight; in his long sports career he participated in eight Olympics (from 1948 to 1976), winning two silver medals (1956 and 1960) and four bronze medals (1956, 1960, 1964, 1972). In the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome he finished second, behind his brother Raimondo, in the individual show jumping grand prix. Numerous participations in all international, European and world competitions with placements of absolute prestige. Colonel Piero D'Inzeo is the rider who boasts the greatest number of successes, seven, at the "Piazza di Siena" International Horse Competition. Former Commander of the Military Riding School, in 2001 the municipality of Montelibretti granted him the "Honorary Citizenship". On March 4, 2013, at the completion of his 90th birthday, he received the decoration from the Chief of Defense joint honor.
