The Shooting School called "Autumn Guardian 2018" ended yesterday, in the presence of the commander of the Artillery Command (and Inspector of the Artillery Army) at the Monteromano Polygon, performed as part of the training activities aimed at young officers of the 196 ° Course, coming from the Army Training Command and Application School.
In this context, the "Yellow Devils" of the 185th regiment, in cooperation with the Artillery Command, the Horse Artillery Regiment and the 3rd Mountain Artillery Regiment, conducted the fire exercise aimed at consolidating and evaluating the specific Command and Control skills, preparation of indirect fire and within the surveillance and target acquisition units.
In detail, firefighting activities were carried out on the aircraft, or "repackaging" of a heavy mortar and a motorcycle-vehicle. Polaris type all terrain vehicle in order of air launch, maneuvering of the launch charges in order to double the volume of fire on the target, fire delivery in degraded mode up to the weapon system level which "self-generates" the firing data. In this exercise, together with the Battery of the "Yellow Devils" personnel from other departments of the "Folgore" parachute brigade and the Italian Army were involved.
The 185th "Folgore" paratrooper artillery regiment, reconstituted in the Bracciano headquarters on 01 July 2013, as a fire support unit of the paratroopers brigade, together with the Artillery Command thus consolidates the tactical procedures by promoting the training of personnel to be assigned to the operational departments of the 'Italian army.
