The 32nd Genio Gustatori regiment of the "Taurinense" Alpine brigade, from 3 to 7 December, was engaged in the MODEX 2018 exercise in coordination with the structures of the Civil Protection.
The exercise scenario foresaw an alluvial event near the Po river basin where the regiment was called to intervene with plans dedicated to the aspiration of water and mud overflowed by natural riverbeds.
The staff of the 32 ° Genio Guastatori regiment is the unit of the Army present in the Piedmont region trained to conduct interventions in public calamities, as happened during the flood of the 2016 in support of the populations.
