The alpine 3 ° in mountain training

(To Army Majority State)
21/06/18

The 3 ° Alpine has planned and conducted in recent days, an impressive exercise regiment aimed at enhancing the ability to live, move and fight in the mountain environment, through different training activities, which ended with the ascents in the Rosa Group and at Cima Ciantiplagna in Val Chisone (TO), in full synergy and active participation of local authorities.

The activity, carried out by the staff attending the "Basic Alpine Course" has completed the training planned on the glacier, starting from the base camp - near Capanna Gnafetti (AO) at 3647 m. - and moving on the Rosa Group even in adverse weather conditions. The conduct of the movement and the construction of self-rescue maneuvers at high altitude have confirmed the high level of training achieved by the students of the course, in harmony with the entire exercise.

The recurrence of the Conquest of Monte Nero (16 June 1915), a feast of the 3 ° regiment of the Alps, was very touching, where the fallen 5000s were commemorated with a march towards Pian dell'Alpe at 1860 m. (TO) and with the subsequent ascent to Cima Ciantiplagna (TO) at 2849 m. by over 550 alpine of the 3 ° regiment. The solemnity of the celebration, with the celebration of Mass at the Court officiated by His Excellency the Bishop of Pinerolo Monsignor Derio Olivero, was remarked by the Deputy Commander of the Alpine Troops, General Marcello Bellacicco Division also in the presence of the Mayors, local civil authorities and of representatives of the National Alpine Association; a synergy that once again confirms the indissoluble bonds that unite the Alpini of Taurinense to the surrounding social fabric.

The collaboration between the civil and military authorities for the use of the occasional polygon in the Orsiera-Rocciavrè Park area represents a synergy that allows conducting the special training activities for the Alpine Troops in harmony with the environment and the communities premises, also guaranteeing the competitions required for local events.

Among the most recent and profitable collaborations we remember the more 70 alpine that, in occasion of the 19ª stage of the Giro d'Italia (Venaria Reale - Bardonecchia), have contributed to the maintenance of safety in high mountain passes both during the climb in Val di Susa up to Colle delle Fenestre (Cima Coppi at 2178 m.) and along the route in the towns of Cesana and Oulx.
