With the intervention of dr. Graziano Santantonio on the theme of lifestyles and the prevention of obesity, Wednesday 31 October, at the Simulation and Validation Center of the Army (Ce.Si.Va), the cycle of interventions of the Local Healthcare Agency 4 of Civitavecchia on therapeutic education for the prevention and treatment of obesity.

The cultural initiative started thanks to the involvement of the commander of the Ce.Si.Va., general of division Roberto D'Alessandro, and of the general manager of the Local Health Authority, dott. Giuseppe Quintavalle, articulated on four highly formative meetings and focused on chronic-degenerative prevention (arterial hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc.).

The course, curated by medical specialists in service at the ASL 4 of Civitavecchia, in addition to highlighting how obesity is a social problem that invests a large part of the Italian population, has provided, for aspects related to the problem of maintaining the operational efficiency, useful information to all the military personnel of the Center.

We started last 20 September with the diabetologist dr. Graziano Santantonio with the theme: "The diagnostic-therapeutic classification of obesity and its complications"; the day 3 October intervened the dietician Valentina Di Fiordo who spoke about the nutrition and dietetic elements of obesity; finally, last 17 October was the turn of the psychologist Margherita Donati who took stock of the psychological problems of obesity.

This initiative, together with the September 28 conference on "The antibiotic resistance and infections related to care", organized in synergy with the ASL 4 of Civitavecchia and the Scientific Association "Hospital and Clinical Risk Managers" (HCRM), established for Ce.Si.Va. two moments of high cultural profile that allowed the Center to establish solid synergies with the public realities of the territory and lay the foundations for other future collaborations in training.
