(To 9 ° Rgt "Col Moschin")
18/04/19

Today, at the Vannucci Barracks in Livorno, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Army Corps General Salvatore Farina, was held the ceremony of delivery of the gray-green Basque to the 9 ° parachutist assault regiment " Col Moschin ". All the departments of the building were deployed in the square Army Special Forces Command of Pisa: the 4 ° alpine paratroopers regiment, the 185 ° objective acquisition regiment and the 28 ° "Pavia" regiment. Also present was the Band and a representation of the paratroopers brigade "Folgore", to symbolize the bond with the Regiment.

To confirm the importance of the moment, among the authorities, were also present the commander of the Terrestrial Operations (COMFOTER COE), army corps general Federico Bonato and the commander of the Interforze Command for Special Forces Operations (COFS), division general Nicola Zanelli, of Rome, Mr. Prefect of Livorno Dr. Annamaria Manzone and a representation of the local authorities and the National Army Raiders Association.

The ceremony, simple but rich in traditions, began with the launch of some Parachuting Instructor Raiders who carried the Italian flag, the Army and the 9 "Col Moschin" regiment. After a brief speech, with which the regimental commander remarked the essential link both with the Arditi Departments operating in the two world conflicts and with the brigade thunderbolt, General Farina personally put on the new beret on the head of the regimental commander, who subsequently gave the order to the regiment deployed to wear it.

Bringing the gray-green beret to the Army Raiders is to give new value to a part of their origins when, immediately after the Second World War, the special platoon and the next Special Company, embryo of the Special Forces of the Army of the Italian Republic, wore just the colors of this Basque.

Subsequently the ceremony saw the handing over of incursor patents to the last section of students who completed the two-year course and who subsequently joined the ranks of the assault battalion.
