In the Istria square of the Gonzaga Barracks in Sassari, in the presence of the war flag of the 152 ° regiment, the alternation ceremony at the top of the brigade took place Sassari, during which the cities and institutions of Sardinia have greeted the highly decorated unit of the Italian Army recently returned home from the Afghan operational theater. 
On 12 June, in fact, after six months of activity, the Sassari brigade handed over the responsibility of the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC W), the multi-national NATO command and Italian-led interforces operating in the West region of Afghanistan as part of the mission Resolute Support
In this period i Dimonios they have contributed to the stabilization of an area that is certainly problematic, favoring the constant growth of local security forces, while also guaranteeing training, advice and assistance to the activities of the Afghan institutions. Currently other departments of the Sassari Brigade are engaged in operations outside the area.

During today's ceremony, in the presence of Corps General Rosario Castellano, commander of the Southern Operational Forces, Brigadier General Gianluca Carai left the command of the brigade to the parigrade Andrea Di Stasio Sassari after about a year and a half of intense operational and training activity, being destined to hold an important position at the Ministry of Defense.

General Andrea Di Stasio, helicopter pilot, comes from the Army General Staff where he served as deputy head of the III department General Planning. Born in Rome, the officer attended regular courses at the Military Academy of Modena and the General Staff and graduated in mechanical engineering. General Di Stasio has a long experience abroad and, over the course of his career, has held important leadership positions, among which the one at the top of the 3 ° Special Helicopters department "Aldebaran" stands out (v.visit of online defense).

During the ceremony a special historical event was also celebrated: the centenary of the Battle of the Solstice, a war event in the Great War during which the "Red Devils" played a fundamental role in blocking the enemy penetration in the low Piave sector. The event was remembered, thanks to the National Brigade Association Sassari and to the Associazione Filatelica Sassarese, with a special philatelic cancellation of Poste Italiane and an exhibition of vintage postcards and postal values ​​set up in the premises of the Historical Museum of the brigade Sassari, in the presence of numerous visitors and enthusiasts.
