In recent days, the detachment of the "Granatieri di Sardegna" Brigade in charge of the "Safe Streets" Operation on the square of the city of Rome (since February of the 2013), on the occasion of the Epiphany festival "has given 40 children guests of the center of welcome of Castelnuovo di Porto of the gifts received by the students of the Santa Chiara Institute in Rome.

The delivery of the gifts, carried out by the staff free from the 8 service of the Bersaglieri Regiment of Caserta employed in the "Rome" grouping, right at the center, allowed the distribution of toys and school supplies with letters from Roman students with little thoughts of good wishes for their less fortunate friends and peers. In the event, organized in collaboration with the civilian staff of the center, the children lived a morning of protagonists and of great joy, showing their emotion and gratitude for the gesture received. The initiative was the proof of the strong synergy of the Armed Forces and of the Detachment with the urban social context and the confirmation of the Army's commitment to social problems.
