Opening of the burning room in honor of Colonel Piero D'Inzeo

This morning at the CONI headquarters, Army Chief of Staff, General Claudio Graziano and CONI services president, lawyer Franco Chimenti, welcomed the arrival of the Salma of the Colonel of the Army Cavalry and Olympic medal, Piero D'Inzeo who died last Friday in Rome at the age of 90 years.

Numerous exponents of the Italian Cavalry and of the equestrian world were present who were moved around the family of Colonel D'Inzeo who was one of the leading exponents of international equitation and undisputed reference point for generations of riders.

"Colonel D'Inzeo best represented the values ​​of sport, militarism and courage, and it was an important reference for the knights both in sport and in the military world," recalled the Chief of Staff of the Army.

"I thank Colonel D'Inzeo for all he has done on behalf of the country and the army," concluded General Graziano.

The presence of horse and horse riders in historical uniform of the Lancieri di Montebello regiment is striking to underline the affection of the Army to Piero D'inzeo. The mortuary will be open until 18.30 today and Sunday 16 from 10.30 to 14.00.

The funeral will take place in Rome on Monday 17 February at 11 at the military racecourse in Via Tor di Quinto n. 118 where a guard of honor riding the Lancieri di Montebello regiment (8 °) will welcome the arrival of the body.
