Joint Alpine and AVES training

The joint training of the 2 ° flight crews ended on Sunday Sirio and the personnel of the Alpine troops, aimed at the use of the Alpine Military Rescue Teams in aircraft equipped with a winch.

The activity, which saw the use of specifically equipped aircraft, represented the completion of the training of the aircraft Military Rescue Teams the Alpine Troops Command trains to support operations in a mountain environment. Close collaboration and careful use of procedures were the guidelines that allowed the 20 Alpine troops to work with the flight arrangements of the 2nd AVES "Sirio" regiment.

The training, which lasted two weeks, allowed the Army Aviation crews to maintain and restore capacity "V" or the professionalism to operate as a crew member in activities that involve operations with the winch, within of rescue and recovery missions. For the Alpine troops, coming from the two brigades Julia e Taurinense and from the command and tactical support department Tridentine, obtaining the necessary qualification to conduct this type of rescue operation.

The training, which proved to be highly profitable for both specialties, confirms how the joint activities between different teams reinforce the specific capabilities of the Army, to intervene both in operating theaters and in emergencies and public calamities, such as those that have recently hit the Calabria, Sicily and Veneto, where Alpine and AVES flight departments intervened together.
