The training activity carried out by the 82 ° "Torino" infantry regiment at the Capo Teulada polygon (called "Capricorn 3 / 2018") was completed in the last few days.
The first phase of the exercise was held at the Tactical Training Center of 1 ° level (CAT) of Teulada, where the assets in the field were tested with different "Stress tests", which simulated multiple scenarios of possible use in the operating theater. Subsequently, a fire exercise was conducted in a "composite war" scenario, which was attended by other Brigades of the "Acqui" Division and other units of the Italian Army.
In particular the 82 ° infantry regiment had in competition from the "Pinerolo" Brigade assets of the 9 ° infantry regiment "Bari", of the 11 ° genius guastatori regiment and of the 31 ° carri regiment.
The brigade "Aosta" participated with the blind-centaur of the regiment lancers of Aosta (6 °), while the brigade "Garibaldi" provided a platoon of ram carts of the 4 ° regiment carri. Specialized units of the 7 ° NBC "Cremona" defense regiment of Civitavecchia (RM) and a team were also used Raven - remotely piloted aircraft used for surveillance and discovery - of the 41 "Cordenons" regiment of Sora (FR). After an initial phase, structured on various exercises with increasing difficulties, the activity ended with the exercise of Tactical Group in focus.
The commander of the "Acqui" division, division general Fabio Polli, said he was fully satisfied in having seen the preparation of the infantry of the "Turin" and of all the assets in competition for the valuable operational capabilities on display.
