The “Taurinense” brigade and the “deputies” of the Turin Section of the National Alpine Association celebrated today the 147th anniversary of the foundation of the Penne Nere at the “Monte Grappa” barracks in Turin.

General Davide Scalabrin, commander of the “Taurinense”, welcomed the Turin Sectional Banner accompanied by the pennants of the “Veja” Groups - the oldest of the 110 sections of the National Alpine Association - to honor together the constitution of the Corps.

Following the deposition of a crown at the war memorial, General Scalabrin recalled how "the spirit of the body that unites the Alpini, in arms and on leave, finds direct and concrete evidence through the many activities that the brigade and its regiments carry out in close synergy with the ANA Sections and Groups present in the area ". The reference to the support that the Alpini Association provides during training activities and to the increasingly close cooperation - also from an operational point of view - in use in the event of public disasters is clear.

At the end of the celebration of the anniversary of the 147 °, the ceremony for the awarding of the "Gen. CA Emilio Faldella Foundation" to the sergeant-major Roberto Mauro of the 2 ° alpine regiment was held, which, during the military biathlon competition of the last edition of the Alpine Troops Skiing Championships, while he was preparing to cross the finish line first, he gave way to a younger comrade in the same regiment, thus allowing him to win the Gold Medal and the title of Italian Military Biathlon Champion.

The “Gen. CA Emilio Faldella ”was born in 1976 with the aim of rewarding the soldiers of Taurinense who distinguished themselves for their spirit of self-denial, altruism, sacrifice and generosity, as well as particular results achieved in training, especially in the mountaineering and skiing fields.
