Undersecretary Alfano at CIRA of Capua, appreciation for the "pole of excellence, unique throughout Europe"

Today, Undersecretary of State for Defense, on. Gioacchino Alfano, visited CIRA in Capua, in the province of Caserta.

Welcomed by the president of CIRA (Italian Center for Aerospace Research), prof. Luigi Carrino, attended a presentation by the general director of CIRA, ing. Mario Cosmo on research activities carried out on behalf or in collaboration with the Defense.

He met the councilor for the productive activities of the Campania Region, prof. Amedeo Lepore, visited the main structures of CIRA: Plasma Wind Tunnel (PWT), IWT (Icing Wind Tunnel) and Technological Laboratories.

At the end of the visit, the undersecretary expressed a deep appreciation for the specificity of the structure of the Polo which constitutes, the undersecretary added, a unique excellence in Italy and in Europe in the aerospace sector.

"On the positive side of CIRA, the whole Campania Aerospace District will have to propose itself more nationally to unite research, development and production and grow further, with the help of the territory and local institutions, trying to draw more resources from European funds".
