In the framework of the International Campus, headquarters of the Italian-led Mission in Somalia (EUTM Somalia), and in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy in Somalia Alberto Vecchi, the commander of the Italian National Support Element (IT- NSE).
After almost eleven months in Somalia, Lieutenant Colonel Michele Giacalone leaves the command of the Italian National Support Element to Lieutenant Colonel Licio Dettori, coming from the 184th TLC “Cansiglio” support battalion of Treviso.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Vecchi highlighted the importance of the Italian National Support Element, a versatile structure that provided maximum support to the EUTM Somalia Mission and to all the other branches present in the area.
The mayor of Mogadishu and president of the Banadir Region, Omar Mohamud Mohamed, present at the event, underlined the deep friendship that binds the Somali people to the Italian people.
