It was concluded yesterday, with the final ceremony of delivery of certificates of participation, the course called Infantry Platoon TTPs Refreshment organized by the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) in favor of personnel belonging to the Presidential Guard, body responsible for the security of the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun.

The event was attended, in addition to the Lebanese military authorities, by the Defense Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Lebanon, Colonel Massimiliano Sforza, and the mission commander, Colonel Stefano Giribono.

The course Infantry Platoon TTPs Refreshment of the duration of 2 weeks was developed to ensure the formation of a homogeneous platoon under the safety battalion of the Presidential Guard, a unit whose primary task is to guarantee the physical security of the Baabda-Beirut Presidential Palace and the military structures connected to it.

The Italian instructors illustrated the fundamental concepts that regulate the activity of establishing a Observation Post, the execution of a Mobile check-point and the Military Combat Method (MCM) with reference to parrying, percussion and weapon retention procedures.

During the course of the course, ample space was dedicated to practical activities: shooting exercises in polygon and implementation of operational scenarios allowed the Lebanese military to put into practice what was learned during the theoretical lessons.

The outcome of the training activities in favor of the Lebanese military was therefore extremely satisfactory, consolidating the strong interest of the Lebanese authorities in collaboration with the Italian Armed Forces and fully confirming the validity of the mission and the training project. Precisely for this reason, during the course of 2018, another 9 courses of this type will be developed which, together with the 2 courses conducted in 2017, will allow the procedural updating of the entire security battalion of the Presidential Guard Lebanese.

The Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) operating in Lebanon by the 2015, organizes, conducts and coordinates training and training activities in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces, framing itself in the broader international context that aims to support the institutions of the Middle Eastern nation to the order to increase its overall capacity.
