Libya: no Italian military involved in the attack on the Misurata airport

Regarding the attack that took place during the night against the Misrata airport, it is confirmed that no Italian soldiers were involved and the infrastructures used by the Italian military contingent were not damaged.

The Italian contingent in Libya operates in the bilateral Mission of assistance and support (MIASIT) to the North African country in harmony with the lines of intervention defined by the United Nations.

The contingent includes personnel with the task of providing health assistance and support, training, training, consulting and mentoring.

A Navy ship also operates in Tripoli with the task of logistic technical support to the Libyan maritime forces as part of the national operation "Safe Sea".
