In recent days, at the headquarters of the Marine Command Regiment in Hamshit (Lebanon), the 1 ° ceremony was held Amphibious course organized by the Italian military of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission.

The ceremony in which the commander of the Mission, Colonel Stefano Giribono and the commander of the Marine Commando Regiment, General Mohamad Al Mustafa, took part was the occasion for the awarding of diplomas to the staff of the LAF who successfully completed the demanding and tight training program.

The "Amphibious" lasting 5 weeks was conducted by a Mobile Training Team (MTT) from the San Marco Marine Brigade of Brindisi, which guaranteed the necessary technical skills for the training of 30 students, including non-commissioned officers and troops. , all belonging to the Lebanese special forces. The course provided Lebanese personnel with the skills to conduct an amphibious operation at the platoon level, also allowing students to acquire the necessary knowledge to make use of air and naval assets. Structuring the program on levels of increasing difficulty, the MIBIL MTT trained LAF personnel in the use of the Lebanese Navy landing craft and “Puma” type helicopters, operating with “fast rope” descent techniques. The “Puma” was also used for the release at sea of a boat and its operators who made a jump from 15 feet. Rudiments of individual military combat and self-defense techniques were developed by the instructors in the context of training activities.

The outcome of the training activities in favor of the Lebanese military was extremely satisfactory, further consolidating the link between the Italian Armed Forces, the MIBIL and the LAF, fully confirming the validity of the mission and the training project.

MIBIL, operating in Lebanon since 2015, organizes, conducts and coordinates training and training activities in favor of the Lebanese armed forces, framing itself in the broader international context that aims to support the institutions of the Middle Eastern nation in order to increase their overall capacity.
