The five maneuvering Task Forces named ITALBATT, GHANBATT, IRISHBATT, ROKBATT and MALBATT and the Slovenian detachment, units under the Joint Task Force Lebanon (JTF-L) of Sector West (SW), have intensified the familiarization programs (Familiarization Deployment - FAMDEP), both with the Sector Mobile Reserve (SMR) and with the Force Commander Reserve (FCR), aimed at mutual knowledge of the technologies and different assets in use.

The SMR and the FCR constitute the rapid intervention forces (Quick Reaction Force - QRF) at the disposal of the SW commander and the UNIFIL commander respectively, capable of intervening in a very short time at the request of the operational units operating on the ground.

In this context, the ITALBATT Italian military, the Irish contingent (IRISHBATT), the Ghanaian military (GHANBATT), the South Korean military (ROKBATT), the Malaysian contingent (MALBATT) and the Slovenes are increasing the theoretical and practical training days on the ground, in order to compare the technical-tactical and operational procedures applied.

For about a week, one of the maneuver Task Force develops, in symbiosis with one of the QRFs, a training course with the aim of further improving not only the reactivity, the interoperability and the flexibility for the conduct of joint operations but also the command and control relations (C2). Specifically, also in light of the particular moment linked to the operation Northern Shield, Activities engineer works  carried out, still today, by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) along the named armistice line Blue Line, combined programs aimed at intensifying integrated patrolling of the approximately 51 kilometers, of the aforementioned line, which insist on the West Sector and which separate Lebanon from Israel, have been conducted.

In this regard, the commander of the SW, Brigadier General Diodato Abagnara stated that "The increase in familiarization has also favored the control of one of the most sensitive areas in the Middle East, such as the section of the Blue Line of the Sector. highlighted how the knowledge of the procedures and their integration within UNIFIL, also with the FCR, is a necessary condition for the units on the ground, which already operate in full synergy and adherence, to guarantee greater integration and decision-making speed ".

The SMR, located at the base of Shama, seat of the Italian contingent, is made up of an explorer squadron of the "Guide" cavalry regiment (19th) stationed in Salerno (SA), and is equipped with a VTLM "Lince" and an armed bus. Centaur. The FCR, on the other hand, French-led units, is able to intervene rapidly, if circumstances require it, in both sectors of the UNIFIL Mission, or in the Italian-led SW and in the Spanish-led Sector East (SE).
