Lebanon: completed Course of tactical communications

It closed in Shama, base of the Italian-led UNIFIL West Sector Command on a parachute brigade base thunderbolt, the first course of Tactical Communication Course for the personnel of the General Directorate of Lebanese State Security.

The instructors and operators of the Combat Support Battalion effective at the 232 ° transmission regiment have planned and conducted the activity for the Lebanese personnel, training them in the use of the most advanced procedures necessary to achieve effective communication at a tactical level.

By combining theoretical parts and field tests it was possible to provide the participants with imported elements to establish and conduct radio communications respecting safety standards.

The activity falls within the scope of operations conducted daily together with the Lebanese Armed Forces, with the aim of increasing security in southern Lebanon as per United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and 2373.

As part of the UN mission in Lebanon, the Combat Support Battalion guarantees the necessary support to the maneuvering forces on a daily basis to counter the threat of improvised explosive devices (IED - Improvised Explosive Device), the fight against the chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear threat ( CBRN) as well as communications.
