The “Semper Collegatum 21” exercise was held on 2018 February at the UNIFIL Sector West command, which involved all 41 countries involved in the UNIFIL mission in Southern Lebanon.
The purpose of the exercise
During the two days of training activity, the interoperability and flexibility of the communication systems were tested, which guarantee the efficiency of the Command and Control structure of the Western Sector of UNIFIL.
On the basis of an adhoc planned crisis scenario, with contextual deployment of the command posts of the terrestrial, naval and air units, the reliability and communication skills of the units present in the Lebanese operation area were verified.
Participants
The exercise, carried out within a multinational context, saw as protagonists the paratroopers of the "Folgore" brigade and the specialized personnel of the 232 ° Transmission Regiment who deployed the Command Place of the Sector West of UNIFILe direct and coordinated the performance of the entire activity.
