1st December 2018 Ship Federico Martinengo took part in a joint training activity with the patrol vessel At the Shamikh Q40 of the Royal Omani Navy at the end of a logistic stop at the port of Salalah (Oman).

The activity is part of the participation in the European Union anti-piracy operation called "Atalanta".

The joint activity allowed the crews to practice with kinematic maneuvers in training, lightning drills and in the exchange of personnel with the smaller organic naval vessels provided.

The training confirmed the interoperability of the Navy with the Royal Navy of Oman. Training means readiness, maintenance of operational capabilities for intervention at sea and the Naval Team has always paid the utmost attention to maintaining the training standards of its crews.

The activity carried out by Vessel Martinengo represents an opportunity for international comparison from which to draw valuable lessons and favors the mutual exchange and development of connections and relationships of professional esteem between the participants, underlining the importance of the presence in the Indian Ocean and in the Gulf of Aden of the Navy.
