The “KFOR Chaplains meeting” was recently held at the headquarters of the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) in the base called “Villaggio Italia” with the aim of promoting ecumenical and interfaith exchange between the multinational contingents of KFOR.

The military chaplain of the Italian contingent, Don Fausto Amantea, welcomed the participants at the Church of San Francesco in the Italian base of Pec / Peje where a moment of common prayer was held in which the work of Pope John XXIII was also remembered , patron of the Italian Army.

The commander of the Multinational Battle Group West, Colonel Ettore Gagliardi greeted the military chaplains who intervened, highlighting the centrality of the role of the spiritual assistant in favor of the soldiers of all the armed forces and for the promotion of peace.

The meeting ended with a visit by all the participants to the Monastery of Decane.

Since last September 6, 2013 our country has taken command of the entire KFOR mission and the Army Divisional General Salvatore Cuoci is the current commander, under which 30 nations operate, of which 22 belong to NATO and 8 partners.
