KFOR and the commitment to safety

Admiral Foggo III, commander of the Allied Joint Force Command of Naples, and Major General Cuoci, commander of KFOR, went to Mitrovica and met with both the mayors of the north and south of the city, respectively Mr. Goran Rakic ​​and Mr. Agim Bahtiri.

The main bridge of Mitrovica, known as "Austerlitz", has represented over the years the symbol of a divided city, but the visit of Admiral Foggo III has shown that NATO, especially after recent events in Mitrovica Nord, is and will remain engaged for the security and stability of Kosovo and that bridges do not divide but unite.

The commander of the Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, after having crossed the bridge together with General Cuoci and the mayor of Mitrovica Sud, Agim Bahtiri, met the mayor of the northern part, Goran Rakic, to whom they expressed their deepest condolences for the recent loss of the father.
The presence of both mayors was of fundamental importance because maintaining good relations is functional to the cooperation and stability of the area, especially after recent events that have created some concern among the population of Kosovo regarding possible tensions. KFOR is always committed to preserving security and ensuring freedom of movement for all citizens of Kosovo and daily carries out its mission to ensure a better future with particular regard to young people.

The time of the conflict has passed and the bridges represent the strongest symbol of the bond, of cooperation and of harmony among the peoples, linking peoples and bringing prosperity and tolerance.

Admiral Foggo III expressed his deep appreciation to both mayors for their significant presence and assured the support of NATO, through KFOR, in order to implement more and more the relations between the North and the South of the city. The admiral also addressed to the divisional general Salvatore Cuoci his thanks for the important and delicate work he is doing for the people of Kosovo and the future of the region through the daily and constant commitment of KFOR, in the name of the motto "Enduring Commitment "which characterizes it as 22 ° commander of KFOR.
