General Eifler on a visit to Mosul

The US general Brian S. Eifler, deputy commander for the operations of the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJFLCC-OIR), visited the Military Army of the Task Force "Praesidium", based on 151 ° infantry regiment "Sassari" stationed at the dam of Mosul.
On that occasion, General Eifler was able to see the effectiveness of the integrated defense system put in place by the Italian military - in close coordination with the Counter Terrorism Service (CTS), the National Security Service (NSS) and the Iraqi security forces (ISF) - visiting the main control points and observation posts located to defend the dam and to protect the personnel of the United States Army Corps of Engineer (USACE) and civil workers of the Trevi company.

The engineers of USACE, moreover, led General Eifler inside the tunnels under the dam to illustrate the rehabilitation system set up by the staff of Trevi, USACE and the local civil workers.

The visit provided an opportunity to highlight the peculiarities of the "Praesidium" TF as an advanced sensor and an element that guarantees security, stability and interoperability with all military and civil partners involved in the Mosul Dam Project.

At the end of the visit, General Eifler expressed words of complete satisfaction Dimonios of the 151st "Sassari" infantry regiment for the high level of cooperation achieved in such a short time with the local security forces (CTS, NSS and ISF) in the implementation of the safety measures of the Mosul dam, a site of strategic interest for the Iraqi government for the development and stabilization of the area.

Italy contributes to the "Inherent Resolve" operation, with tasks to combat international terrorism, the training of the Iraqi and Kurdish security forces (Peshmerga) as well as ensuring the safety of the structure of the Mosul dam.
