Brigadier General Nicola Terzano is the new commander of "Prima Parthica"

General Vannacci leaves the command of the Italian contingent in the operation First Parthica and the appointments of deputy commanding general for training at the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve and an Italian senior national representative after a year of his arrival in Iraq. In these 338 days of Command, important results have been achieved by the International Coalition against ISIS and by the Italian contingent which is the second, after the USA, for consistency among the 74 nations participating in the effort to defeat DAESH.

In particular, the Italian contingent, composed of about 700 Italian Army soldiers and 100 Carabinieri, deployed in different 11 bases in Iraq, has contributed effectively and effectively to the training of Iraqi and Kurdish forces playing a primary role in the defeat of ISIS and now they are committed to the stabilization and normalization of the country.

In recognition of the work done to General Vannacci, the Legion of Merit and the Foreign Service Medal of the Czech Republic were granted on behalf of the President of the United States of America. The international "Tommaso Moro" award was granted to the entire Italian contingent. "For the crucial role played for the defeat of ISIS and for the stabilization and normalization of Iraq.

Brigadier General Terzano, former commander of the "Garibaldi" Bersaglieri brigade, in his career has held positions at the Army General Staff and in the inter-force field, both at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as division head J5 Piani, and at 'General Office of the Secretary General / DNA, was employed in the Balkan and Lebanese theater and can also count on two training experiences in Romania and in the United States.
