The Italian contingent of the Multinational Battle Group West on a mission to Kosovo supports school facilities

The Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) under Italian leadership, based on the 185th Parachute Artillery Regiment thunderbolt, recently concluded a cycle of donations developed by the Civil - Military Cooperation (CIMIC) in the training sector in favor of 3 schools in the western area of ​​Kosovo.

The institutes supported

In the past few days, various teaching materials were delivered to the Dardanjia school located in Peja / Pec in favor of 58 pupils belonging to the RAE (Rom-Ashkali-Egyptian) community, 4 of Bosnian ethnicity (KOB) and 25 of Albanian ethnicity (KOA). At the school of “Heronjite and Dukagjinit” in Gllojan / Glodjane, desks and chairs were donated for the modernization of 3 classrooms and the consequent improvement of conditions for over 90 students.
Finally, inside the Serbian village of Gorazdevac / Gorazhdec, the commander of the MNBG-W, Colonel Ettore Gagliardi, inaugurated a chemistry classroom-laboratory, entirely built with funds from the Italian Defense, in favor of over 110 Serbian students of the “Janko Josipevic” school district.

The commitment in Kosovo

The commitment of the Armed Forces framed in the MNBG-W continues in supporting the educational sector for the training of the young generations of Kosovar students in close collaboration with the local authorities. These incentives will have concrete and sustainable effects on the company's future employment opportunities, especially in the field of scientific research and the management of laboratories in the chemical sector.

The MNBG-W, made up of Italian Slovenian Austrian and Moldovan Units, as established by United Nations resolution 1244, ensures the freedom of movement of Kosovo citizens, guaranteeing a safe and protected environment while respecting the pluralism of ethnic groups and religious confessions present on the Balkan territory.

The Forces Deployed in Kosovo

The forces that since 1 March 2011 make up KFOR permanently deployed in Kosovo are: two Multinational Battle Groups (one of which is under Italian command), an MSU carabinieri regiment (composed exclusively of soldiers from the Carabinieri), a regiment with tactical reserve (multinational), no. 3 multinational units called JRD (Joint Regional Detachment), one of which with Italian leadership.
