The MNBG-W Italian soldiers engaged in Kosovo supply materials to firefighters

The Italian Contintent of the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) has concluded a cycle of important donations to the firefighters of the cities of Gjakova / Dakovica and Suhareka / Suva Reka.

The Civil-Military Cooperation (CI.MI.C.) cell of the MNBG-W, with the contribution of the CIMIC sector head of the Institute for Research Studies for Defense Information (ISTRID), Dr. Roberto Faccani, has delivered material and equipment to two stations , including a generator set, tents and work uniforms worth around 20.000 euro.

The commander of the MNBG-W, Colonel Ettore Gagliardi, underlined the importance of the work carried out by the staff of the fire brigade, which sees its men engaged in the territory in the daily life-saving activities, in cooperation with the other institutions of Kosovo.

Recently units belonging to the "Fire-fighters" and to the "Kosovo Security Force-KSF" took part in the "Silver Saber 2018-1" exercise directed by K-FOR in response to possible natural disasters.

The Italian-led MNBG-W, based on the 185th "Folgore" parachute artillery regiment, is composed of Italian, Slovenian, Austrian and Moldovan units, as established by United Nations resolution 1244, ensures the freedom of movement of the citizens of the Kosovo, guaranteeing a safe and protected environment while respecting the pluralism of ethnic groups and religious denominations present in the Balkan territory.
