There are over 30 insurgents in total who, in Afghanistan, from December to today, under the Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC W), led by the "Sassari" brigade, have opted for reconciliation as a consequence of the pressing activities conducted by the Army and local police throughout the Western Region.

The reconciliation of the Taliban fruit is a hope for the civilian population

The reconciliations of the Taliban, which took place in Afghanistan mainly in the western region, under the responsibility of the Italian contingent, are also the result of the communion of intentions and the sharing of objectives between the instructors of TAAC W, the leaders of the Security Forces and government institutions Afghan women who, also through a correct information campaign, have managed to spread and consolidate adequate messages of hope for the civilian population.

Economic expansion offers important employment opportunities

The West area, which is experiencing a moment of maximum economic expansion due to the construction of important strategic infrastructures, could in fact see an important acceleration in the peace process, distracting the fighters from the struggle and offering them important employment opportunities. The institutional meetings, often organized by TAAC W, are therefore very tight, to identify the military and non-military ways that are essential to make the most of this important historical opportunity.

This reconciliation will encourage other combatants to lay down their arms

In this light, therefore, the reconciliation of the Taliban encourages further fighters to lay down their armaments recognizing the rapprochement with local institutions as the only solution to the internal conflicts within the country.
