In recent days the base of Camp Arena, headquarters of the Italian Contingent of the TAAC-W (Train Advise and Assist Command West) on a brigade base Pinerolo on a mission to Afghanistan, it was the scene of a photographic exhibition called “The Stranger Look”, created and organized by the Herat Journalist Association.

The journalists exhibited, in a whirlwind of colors, lights and shadows, artistic photographs depicting human faces, breathtaking landscapes and glimpses of life in Afghanistan of yesterday and today that have transmitted deep emotions to the men and women of the contingent.

Similar to the "Visual Art" Association of Modern Art, former guest of the Italian Contingent, the Journalists Association is also very active in defending the rights of women and works with it in organizing and conducting initiatives in favor of the female world. .

The Italian contingent in Afghanistan continues to support the present and the future of Afghan women through targeted projects and events aimed at fostering their integration in the institutions and in society. In particular, it should be recalled what happened in the month of last September when qualified representatives of the Ministries of the Interior and of Defense of Kabul and the Gender Advisor di Resolute Support, held a seminar aimed at promoting the integration of female personnel into the Afghan Security Forces.

Furthermore, the professionalization of women belonging to the Afghan National Defense Security Forces (ANDSF) continues thanks to the commitment of Military Advisory Team of the Army and the Police Advisory Team of the Carabinieri who have organized and conducted highly training courses in recent months in view of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The work of the Advisors Italians is part of the NATO Resolute Support (RS) mission with the main task of providing training, advice and assistance to the Afghan Security Forces to improve their functionality and their ability to self-sustain.
