In recent days at the headquarters of the Train Advise and Assist Command West (TAAC-W), a multinational NATO mission framed in the mission Resolute Support (RS), the alternation ceremony in the command of the Task Group Fenice took place between Lieutenant Colonel Pietro Angelo Linciano and the Parisian Fabio Canteri.
The commander of the national contingent and of the Train Advise and Assist Command West (TAAC W), based on the "Pinerolo" brigade, congratulated Lieutenant Colonel Linciano for the fundamental and indispensable support provided by the men and women of the Air Force Army of the "Fenice" Task Group and the infantrymen of the 66th “Trieste” Aircraft Infantry Regiment in favor of the entire Italian contingent, and in particular, to advisors during the conduct of assistance and consultancy activities to the Afghan Security Forces.
The "Fenice" Task Group is equipped with both NH 90 multirole helicopters, a technologically advanced machine dedicated to the transport of personnel for medical evacuation and search and rescue, and A129 "Mangusta" helicopters for escort and safety in flight, as well as of the remote piloted system "Shadow 200 RQ-7C" capable of carrying out reconnaissance and air surveillance during day and night to guarantee and implement the security conditions of the contingent. The helicopter component of the Army Aviation guarantees its contribution to the activities of the Italian Advisors, work that is part of the NATO Resolute Support (RS) mission, with the main task of providing training, advice and assistance to the Security Forces Afghans to improve their functionality and their ability to sustain themselves.
