Afghanistan: training for Afghan military personnel

In recent days at the headquarters of the Train Advise and Assist Command West (TAAC-W) in Herat, an Italian-led multinational command on a brigade basis Pinerolo of the NATO Resolute Support (RS) mission, a training session in favor of the military with functions of personal escort close protection team of the commander of the 207th body of the Afghan National Army ended.

The training session, which lasted about fifteen days and based on the conduct of theoretical and practical activities, allowed the military designated as personal escort of the commander of the 207th body of the Afghan National Army to meet with colleagues of the Italian contingent by sharing of techniques and procedures that have allowed them to refine their professional skills. The session ended with a practical exercise that saw the Afghan National Army soldiers engaged in the management of a complex event carried out on a real scenario.

The staff of the Train Advise and Assist Command West (TAAC-W) continues the professionalization of women and men belonging to the Afghan National Defense Security Forces (ANDSF) thanks to the commitment of the Army Military Advisory Team and the Police Advisory Team of the Arma dei Carabinieri who organize and conduct highly formative courses and training sessions to fill the capacity gaps identified in the consultancy and assistance activities. The work of the Italian Advisors is part of the NATO Resolute Support (RS) mission with the main task of providing training, advice and assistance to the Afghan Security Forces to improve their functionality and their ability to self-sustain.
