The course ended Joint Diving Officer (JDO) for diving officers of the United States Navy at the United States Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center in Panama City Beach (Florida - USA).

The course, which lasted over 4 months, subjected 28 visitors, including foreign 4, to intense training aimed at achieving the ability to conduct and manage military underwater operations (Diver Supervisor).

Of the 28 officers who started the course, only 19 Americans, and the Italian ensign Emanuele Lo Schiavo, diver of the Comsubin Underwater Operating Group, had the strength to pass the pool week test, a milestone in the training of American divers, in the which aspiring divers are subjected to very hard tests with a high emotional impact.

Between underwater operations aimed at the recovery of sunken boats and underwater activities carried out in the Atlantic Ocean, ensign Lo Schiavo has shown to possess superlative professional skills so much that he distinguished himself in both academic and practical / sports tests, ranking first in the course and earning the title of Honor Graduate

For the skills demonstrated, the Schiavo was admitted to attend, moreover, the course Mixed Gas which led him to also achieve the qualification of the US Navy to diving with synthetic Heliox mixtures (helium and oxygen).

All projects graduation, the award ceremony of the patents, was also present the commander of the Underwater Operating Group, captain of frigate Bruno Rocca, visiting the school to plan future collaborative activities in the field of hyperbaric diving, who had the pleasure of learning directly from Director of the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center that the average of the marks achieved by Ensign Emanuele Lo Schiavo, in the numerous exams and tests to which he was subjected, was the second best ever in the history of the US Navy!

An excellent result that confirms, once again, the level of training followed by Diving School of Comsubin that for over 165 years forms the divers of the Navy.
