The Luigi Rizzo frigate stopped in Genoa and opened for visits

The European Multi-Mission Frigate (FREMM) Luigi Rizzo of the Navy will make a stop in the port of Genoa from Thursday 1 to Saturday 3 February.

Ship Luigi Rizzo is the sixth frigate of the class, the second in configuration General Purpose, and is equipped with a weapon system, defense and discovery of the latest generation.

The ship was delivered to the Navy 20 2017 April and is dedicated to Luigi Rizzo, a highly decorated hero who wrote some of the most glorious and significant pages of the First World War.

With a crew of 168 men and women, a length of over 140 meters and a displacement at full load of 6700 tons, the frigate Luigi Rizzo it is a multipurpose ship, designed in the name of innovation and flexibility, in order to actively operate in the protection of national interests and be able to respond successfully to future scenarios.

During the stop, activities will be organized on board for the "Leon Pancaldo" Marine Technical Institutes in Savona, "Cappellini Sauro" in La Spezia, "Andrea Doria" in Imperia and "San Giorgio" in Genoa.

The ship will be moored at the quay Ponte dei Mille, near the historic center and will be open for visits to the population and school groups during the following hours:

- Thursday 1 February: from 14.00 pm to 18.00 pm;

- Friday 2 and Saturday 3 February: from 09.30 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 18.00.
