The annual bilateral exercise took place from 21 to 25 October Rising Star, between the Italian Navy and the Israeli Navy. The activity, carried out in the waters of the Gulf of Taranto, aims to increase interoperability and cooperation in the field of underwater rescue, while maintaining high training standards for the crews of the naval units and the Italian and Israeli submarines involved.

This year, for the first time, the training event also included interactions between naval units, with the aim of building a solid bond in the field of maritime operations. In this context, the frigate Zephyr, the submarine Romeo Romei, the corvette Lahav and the missile patrol Keshet, simulated air and surface defense scenarios, as well as fire and leak fighting scenarios, also verifying the common procedures for emergency medical intervention in favor of wounded soldiers or any castaways found at sea.

At a depth of 35 meters, the divers of the Underwater Operating Group and the "submarine rescue ship" Antaeus, have been involved in the rescue simulation of the Israeli submarine Leviathan of the class Dolphin. Through the McCann bell, known in NATO as Submersible Rescue Chamber, it was possible to evacuate ten crew members from the damaged boat, thus verifying the effectiveness of the national rescue systems and their interoperability with Israeli submarines.
