The work visit to Pakistan by the Navy Chief of Staff concluded

Today 10 March 2018, the Chief of Staff of the Navy, team admiral Valter Girardelli, concluded a working visit to Pakistan full of meetings, in Islamabad and Karachi, with the institutions, local authorities and the leaders of the Armed Forces who permission to explore issues related to cooperation between the two countries.

In particular, Admiral Girardelli had the opportunity to meet and discuss with the Chief of Staff of the General Army Qamar Javed Bajwa and with the Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Navy Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi with whom he discussed the role of the Pakistani Armed Forces in ensuring peace and stability in the region, common issues related to maritime security, the fight against illicit trafficking, piracy and terrorism.

On the 8th, the Chief of Staff of the Navy also greeted the crew of Nave Margottini parked in the port of Karachi as part of the campaign that the European Multi-Mission Frigate is conducting in the Middle East before taking on the role of Ship flag of the European operation Atalanta.

Before leaving Pakistan, Admiral Girardelli also visited the Qasim Naval Station, meeting the commander in charge of coastal security, Admiral Moazzam Llyas and thus concluding the program in the country.
